Empty spaces; energetic places.
When we walk through the woods on a fall day it can be easy to forget all the energy transfers taking place.
What we can see is a range of wavelengths visible to the human eye. The light we see makes up less than one percent of one percent of the entire electromagnetic spectrum. In fact, humans are capable of seeing only 0.0035% of reality.
What we perceive with our eyes isn’t all there is. We intrinsically know this when we talk about gut feelings and good vibes. Yet, it can be easy to forget when we hold a glass of water, that the glass isn’t actually solid. It’s an extremely slow moving liquid, holding a faster moving liquid.
Quantum physics shows us that even in a vacuum, even at a temperature of absolute zero, energy persists. Seemingly, out of no where. Empty Spaces; Energetic Places asks us to reflect on the energy present in seemingly empty places and how that energy might have the power to transforms us.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
Drawing inspiration from the natural world, I use watercolor and other found objects; such as pebbles, stones, and sand, to create vibrant, contemporary paintings filled with magnetic meditative movement.
My creations act as a bridge between the tangible world and the abstract notions that shape our perceptions. I hope to inspire a deeper contemplation on the energy present all around us and the interconnectedness of all beings.
